Honestly D.C., I don't think it's possible. The original Savage (1980's) came with a four speed transmission. Suzuki added a fith in the 1990s without changing the size of the case! I don't think there is room for a sixth gear, and even if it was possible, unless you own a machine shop and are a qualified bike mechanic, it would be an expensive ordeal. Your talking about removing the engine, tearing down the cylinder, splitting the cases and then tearing down the clutch and gears and all those little rings and spacers and sprockets that make up a tranmission. I think your better off looking for a faster bike (used maybe). By the way, LA huh? Me too. Where abouts?
